FTND supports first amendment

During the Victorian era movement, in the 1850s, England passed the first laws against pornography. The laws did not stop the prolific spread of pornography and may have actually increased demand. In the 1970's and 1980's, the extreme feminists took up the banner of the anti-porn movement. Their approach was bellicose and divisive and focused on passing laws that were eventually found to be unconstitutional.

Learning from the past, Fight the New Drug takes a non-legislative, non-judgmental approach. We recognize an individual's right to view and produce pornography, however, once they are educated on the harmful effects of pornography we believe they will choose to avoid it. We only wish to educate about the negative effects of pornography on individuals, families, and businesses.

In our research, we've found that many people, especially Americans, automatically assume that the anti-pornography movement is at odds with First Amendment freedoms. Under that perception, people are asked to weigh the importance of free speech against the damaging effects of pornography. Fight the New Drug rejects this perception and we will position ourselves as anti-porn, pro-free speech.

Fight the New Drug's message is based on science and facts. In a sense, science is an international currency. We explain why porn is harmful by educating people about the negative psychological and physical reactions it causes. We do not affiliate ourselves with any religious groups or political agendas.

This movement is the result of two years spent developing ideas and researching the effects of pornography. Taking a fresh approach to the issue, we're a non-profit organization dedicated to help the young generation educate itself with the facts on pornography. We hope you will join us in this fight.

Fight the new drug's talking points

1. At Fight the New Drug we are committed to educating people about the negative effects of pornography and letting them decide their pornography involvement for themselves.

2. Just because it’s legal to smoke cigarettes, doesn’t mean it’s healthy. In the same way that cigarettes can kill you, porn can have devastating effects on you and your loved ones.

3. Although we believe that pornography consumption can lead to powerful addictive behaviors, we don’t contest people’s right to view certain forms of it. Similarly, people have a right to purchase and consume tobacco products.

4. At Fight the New Drug we believe people need to be educated about the negative effects of pornography on individuals, families and businesses.

5. We are fighting against the demand for pornography. Through education, we believe people will no longer want to use porn and those with addictive behavior will seek help from professionals.

6. People who are addicted to porn often feel they don’t have any options. We’re letting people know that they have a choice.

7. At FTND we want to infuse more sexiness into the world. Two committed people together, that is sexy. A lonely, addicted person sitting in front of a computer is not sexy.

The Start of Something Big

Being a part of something big is exciting. Being a part of something big from the very beginning is so much more. Something so epic that can only be rivaled by a thumb war with Chuck Norris, or maybe a blockbuster with Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, AND Bruce Lee all fighting in the street fighter World Championship. I think you get the idea.

Fight the New Drug is a youth to youth movement dedicated to raise awareness on the addictive and harmful effects of pornography using facts and science. Regardless of your moral beliefs, religious background, or political affiliation, we stand united with sound reason and facts.

For years pornography has been viewed as a moral issue. Those who fought it publicly were considered as religious extremists. Doctors recommended it to patients claiming it to be a “healthy outlet.” Such misunderstanding of a substance hasn’t been seen since tobacco was thought to be good for the lungs. The effects pornography has on your brain are real and incredibly dangerous. Help us spread the word to those around us. Become a Fighter.

To educate yourself here are a few articles written by our team:

Once you understand what porn does to the brain we think you’ll join us in avoiding it and educating others.
