For those of you who need help now with overcoming an addiction to pornography, we would like to introduce you to FORTIFY: A Step Toward Recovery. Let me give you a little bit of a back story. Fight the New Drug’s mission has always been to educate young people about the harmful effects of pornography. We hope toempower our generation of youth to pursue real love and reject its hollow counterfeit. As we have pursued our purpose we have had some pretty amazing experiences.
At one time or another, we’ve all needed help. There was one time in my life where everything came down on me at once, it was a perfect storm. I was starting a new job, moving into a new place and I had a cold. I seriously had three days to get things done. Picture it, day one: there I am carrying a mattress on my back down stairs, sneezing, with twenty more boxes to go. I had hit a wall, there wasn’t any more I could do on my own. It was the hardest thing in the world for me to ask for help. I hated it, I don’t know why but in our culture we associate needing help with weakness.
I can’t describe my deep-rooted passion for instigating change in our world.Ever since childhood I have felt embedded with this desire. Some may consider me to be overly idealistic or too young and naive to really know what I’m am saying but to be honest, I don’t really care. I feel it, and that is enough for me.
Let me introduce you to the Gypsy moth. They were brought over to the United States in the late 1800s. A guy brought them from France to raise for the silk they produced. Not long after he began caring for the little creatures in his back yard, some escaped into the wild. After a while he lost interest and moved back to France in 1882.He didn’t stick around long enough to see the effects of introducing a foreign insect into the ecosystem in the northeastern United States.
